Rev. Shawn and Rev. Lynn have discerned that the time has come—though still a few months away—to pass the baton of ministerial leadership at First Unitarian. On Sunday, they will both offer deeper reflections about the transition and the process they’ve gone through in their discernment. Our president, Tanya Cothran, will also offer some words about the congregation’s next steps, as well as invite you to the February 5th Congregational Conversation that will be devoted to learning more about the interim ministry process.

Following the service, in lieu of breakout room discussions, there will be two opportunities to gather with others for a lightly facilitated one-hour Listening Circle. Brenda Ponic will facilitate the online circle, starting ten minutes after the close of the service, and using the same Zoom link from the worship service. The session will not be recorded or live-streamed on YouTube. Harold Wright will facilitate the in-person circle at Oakwood Collegiate. Both of these gatherings will be a place to simply express feelings without responses or cross-talk—a time for reflection and listening deeply to one another.
