Summer Delights

Sermon by Reilly Yeo.

Flowers in Vase

What is delight, and why is it different from happiness? As we prepare for our summer ministry together, let’s explore the meaning of “delight.” When we open ourselves up to delight, to sensation and presence, we deepen our capacity for all different kinds of experiences. This may include the grief and anxiety that come with a changing summer season, a season when more extreme weather reminds us that we are living in a climate crisis. As Unitarian Universalists, we’re committed to the kinds of spiritual growth that also heighten our capacity for living fully, with grief and lamentation but also delight and joy. Come, let’s set our intentions together for a summer of delight, pleasure and presence.
