Winter Solstice Service with Harp
Join us on Friday, December 20 at 7:00 p.m. for our Winter Solstice service, a contemplative service where we welcome the return of longer days. We will be led by Maya Ferguson Klinowski, Donald Cole, Rona Macdonald, Terri Marks, and RevJ, with special guest, harpist Sharlene Wallace.
The service will be in-person only at St. Matthew’s United Church (in the Parlour), 729 St. Clair Ave. W.
Christmas Eve Services
Our Christmas Eve Services with be held at Neighbourhood Unitarian Universalist (310 Danforth Ave at Jackman)
Every Child is Sacred
Join us on Tuesday, December 24th for one (or both!) of our shared Christmas Eve services, with cider and cookies for all in the hour between.
Multiple local UU congregations are combining communities for a special Christmas Eve together; both services will be held at the Neighbourhood UU Congregation at 310 Danforth Ave, and will be led by First Unitarian’s Rev. Dr. Jonipher Kwong.
Both will feature singing, stories, reflection, and of course a chance to join our voices in a candlelit rendition of Silent Night.
5:00 pm Service
Our earlier service, beginning at 5:00 PM, will be a lively and intentionally family-friendly experience, with carol singing, storytelling, and lots of joyful energy! Childcare for toddlers is available. Join us for a celebration of the message of love within the Christmas story, and a reflection on the holiness of each child born.
6:00 PM Cider and Cookies
Bring your favorite holiday treat to share! As you are leaving the earlier service or arriving to the later service, you are invited to enjoy this chance to eat, drink, and be merry alongside members of our wider UU community.
7:00 PM Service
Our later service, beginning at 7:00 PM, will be a more contemplative space with a short homily, with additional music provided by the Neighbourhood and First Unitarian Choir, and a meditation in place of the earlier children’s story.
Join us for a chance to connect with the deeper meaning of Christmas, and the love we are each called to embody in the world.
