Is There Room Enough for Everybody?

Sermon by Rev. Dr. Stephen Atkinson.

Unitarian Universalists celebrate religious pluralism.

Pluralism is, according to Google, “a… system in which two or more… groups, principles, sources of authority, etc. co-exist.” The definition doesn’t add “peacefully!” In the history of Unitarian Universalism we can find advances and setbacks in applying this system amongst us. In some of our communities, the balance between open-mindedness and ‘right-mindedness’, not in the Buddhist sense at all, can be distinctly lop-sided. But, if we must be anything, in my mind, we must be pluralist.

This service was in person at Oakwood Collegiate Institute.
