Sermon by Shawn Newton.
Who, if pressed, would actually defend perfection as a goal for most if not all aspects of life? Sure, excellence can be compelling. But perfection is recognised by many of us to be elusive and ultimately unfulfilling. And, still, too many of us remain in its grip. This Sunday, we’ll reflect on perfection—and, even more, on its insidious sibling, perfectionism. For this service, Rev. Shawn will be preaching and Alexa and Jordan Yaphe will serve as our worship leaders. Adam Sakiyama and the choir will sing “The Storm Is Passing Over.” And Jack McFadden and Tanya Cothran will offer reflections on the meaning of this community.
