Sermon by Nic Da Silva.
This Sunday, we welcome First Unitarian member and seminarian Nic da Silva to the pulpit for a thoughtful reflection on love, our February theme. Nic is currently studying psychotherapy and spiritual care in Emmanuel College’s Master of Pastoral Studies program. Nic’s research interests include transformative spirituality, Nietzschean and feminist psychotherapy, political non-violence, and the spirituality of hip hop. Nic writes that “Love, like water, takes many shapes and moulds to the experience of the one receiving it,” and is especially needed in times of “complicated questions and unsatisfying answers.” As well, Stephanie Hodnett will bring us an update from the Interim Minister Search Committee, with a timeline of next steps as First’s ministry transition gets underway.
