Our Search for an Interim Minister

The committee to identify an Interim Minister was appointed by the Board of Trustees in January 2023. The members are Tanya Cothran, Karen Dunk-Green, Alex Hodnett, Stephanie Hodnett, Margaret Kohr, and Chris Lee (chair). The committee is responsible for assembling a congregational profile, reviewing and interviewing candidates, and recommending an Interim Minister candidate to the board.

The formal interim minister review period occurs between April-May with a start date aimed for the summer. The Interim Minister typically serves for a two-year period and does not stand as a candidate for our next Settled Minister.

The core responsibilities of the Interim Minister will be to guide us in envisioning and working towards the congregational future we aspire to create together.  While carrying out this overall responsibility, the Interim Minister will deliver Sunday services, lead our professional staff, assist with pastoral care, and collaborate with the congregation to keep moving forward in our mission.

If you have questions about the Interim Minister search process, please contact the committee at InterimSearch@nullFirstUnitarianToronto.org.

The committee is asking for your input to assist them in representing our congregation’s diverse needs and combined vision for First’s future, as we review and select a candidate for First’s Interim Minister.
