Funerals and Memorial Services

Funerals and memorial services are an opportunity to celebrate the life of the deceased while bringing some comfort to the family and friends. In preparing for a service, our Lay Chaplains spend time with the family and close friends, talking and listening to stories about the deceased which provide helpful material for creating a personal service.

Sometimes Lay Chaplains are called when someone is very ill, so that they can meet in person, get to know them and learn from them what would be important in their service.

You do not have to be a Unitarian to have a memorial service in our church. Lay Chaplains also perform services in funeral homes, at gravesides, in mausoleums, and at the location where ashes are scattered.

We would be honoured to work with you to create a memorable service for your loved one.
