GLBT Rites

Wedding1_200Over thirty years ago our congregation was one of the first to conduct same-sex unions and we are now delighted to be able to offer legal weddings for all couples.

As a faith community that holds diversity of  sexual identity, as well as diversity of theology, as a fundamental principle, our Congregation includes and welcomes bisexual, gay, lesbian, transsexual, transgendered persons, same-sex couples and same-sex parents to our membership. Our Lay Chaplains have created many traditional and non-traditional ceremonies for this community including weddings, name changes, child dedications and coming out ceremonies.

We would be honoured to help you create a wonderful and memorable service.

Read the statement regarding same-sex couples passed at the Annual General Meeting of the First Unitarian, Congregation of Toronto - May 2001.
