| Renting Space at First | |
|
Reopened in 1993 after an extensive renovation, First Unitarian is distinguished by its unique tower. We provide a sanctuary of beauty in an otherwise frantic city. First Unitarian welcomes and supports those seeking the use of quality space.
Investigate us; we are equipped for business or social events - seminars, workshops, receptions, weddings, business meetings, dinners, lunches, recitals, music or acting classes, lectures, etc. - for as little as one hour or for the whole day or longer.
The new Narthex provides a generous and visually stunning reception area for Sunderland Hall, Workman Hall and the Alice Huston Library/Chapel. Its high ceiling and natural light create a majestic feeling for all to enjoy. Dimensions: 19' by 67'
Our worship space, with its skylight, can be completely cleared for other uses such as recitals, concerts, lectures, dinners, dances, auditions, etc. Non-members may rent the hall for weddings, with one of our chaplains officiating, and later their reception in an adjoining space. This hall has exceptional acoustics and an excellent sound system operated from a sound booth. Our Steinway concert grand complements this space. Dimensions: 64' by 52' (hall); 13' by 52' (platform). Seating for up to 394. Our second largest space has a bright and cheery ambiance with its natural lighting. It comfortably seats 150 people lecture-style or 125 for a meal. It has a sound system, a motorized movie projection screen, and a complete kitchen adjoining. Very functional, it is a popular rental space. Dimensions: 47' by 43'
Dramatically located at the base of our tower, the library/chapel is a warm and intimate space, ideal for small weddings, dedications or music lessons. This room, one of our most beautiful spaces, can accommodate 20 people in a relaxing setting. It contains an upright piano. Dimensions: 20' by 22'
This is a highly functional multi-purpose area with natural
light and an adjoining kitchen servery, seating 65 comfortably.
Seating for up to 20 around a central table, this room is ideal for small meetings.
Our many and varied spaces are available to groups whose principles do not conflict with our values of freedom and dignity for all. We'd be pleased to have you view our building and discuss your use of our space. You'll be pleasantly surprised by our reasonable rates for the function you are planning. Please give our Administrator a call at (416) 924-9654 to discuss your requirements.
