Sunderland Hall, our main worship space, is an ideal place for showing artwork. The large skylight and high ceilings enhance the room while the gallery space has its own lighting to allow the works to be shown to their best advantage.

We also have a smaller display area in our library, where art from our members is displayed for up to two months.

The artists who display their work in these spaces often offer some pieces for sale, with a small percentage of the price going to the congregation. Please contact the artist if you are interested in purchasing a work.

Artists interested in exhibiting their work in our Sunderland Hall gallery are invited to contact the Arts Committee chair by This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..

Art in July & August: Avenue Road Arts School

Avenue Road Arts School

The Avenue Road Arts School has been offering high-quality arts programming in a relaxed and supportive environment for over 20 years. Coming from a wide variety of professions, adult students turn to visual art as a pastime. For many students, it isn't long before a deep-rooted passion is unearthed.

Anita Floras, Orly Glatt, Tracey Suba and Ann Wilson have channeled their innate creativity to much accomplishment. Each artist has exhibited at public galleries and local venues. Over the years they have delved further into their desired medium, exploring innovative techniques while staying true to their vision.

The exhibit runs to mid-September.

Art in September: Carmel Bouzanne's A Moment's Promise

Carmel Bouzanne's A Moment's Promise

Carmel Bouzanne grew up in a Newfoundland outport. The elements of wind, water and cold combined with the earthly gifts of rocks and soil offered a raw and wild beauty that have sustained Carmel throughout her life. Her paintings are a meditation, intuitively connecting her inner and outer worlds.

A Moment's Promise explores the energy of movement through colour and form. It offers the viewer a promise that speaks to our emotional/spiritual being. Through the connection of our own inner nature with our profound love of the planet, we seek to arrive at a place of greater peace and creativity, satisfying a longing through a visual field.

Please join us for the opening reception Sunday, September 10 noon to 1 pm.

The exhibit runs to October 1.

Library Exhibit for September & October: Cloths and Zentangle-Inspired Art by Sue Berlove

Sue Berlove

Sue’s original 6” x 6” pen drawings are adapted from Zentangle, an art form typically done using black ink. Sue has incorporated color, bringing the drawings to life with vibrant colors and imaginative designs.

The 3’ x 5’ floor cloths in the show are intended to add color to any floor and brighten up a room.

The exhibit runs Sept 10-Oct 31.
